Kurly Taylor is a December 2016 graduate from the University of Missouri – Kansas City with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a minor in political science. Kurly is a native of St. Louis and is a graduate of Soldan International Studies High School where he was an MCAC advisee. At UMKC, Kurly was a part of the diverse brotherhood group Men of Color where the mentor program at Hogan Prep was among his favorite activities. In addition to Kurly being a member of Men of Color he also served as an ambassador for the History Department at UMKC on several occasions and worked as a Student Manager at the Student Union. Kurly's work with young people extends back to St. Louis where he works with his church's youth group, and volunteers at Adams Elementary School to help children in the first-grade read and write. Following his tenure with MCAC, Kurly plans to pursue a law degree or a master’s in educational policy because he wants to work in education research and shape policy on education reform.
