No matter if you need relief from arthritis pain or just want to be active, the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk With Ease 6-week walking program can teach you how to safely make physical activity part of your everyday life. Studies show that Walk With Ease is proven to:
- Reduce the pain and discomfort of arthritis
- Increase balance, strength and walking pace
- Build confidence in your ability to be physically active
- Improve overall health
The hybrid program includes a weekly face-to-face meeting with guided walking, a guidebook, and a walking schedule to get you safely moving toward better health. Participants will meet in-person once a week with a trained instructor from MU Extension to discuss successes, challenges, receive education about physical activity and walking, and get questions answered. Participants will walk on their own (or with a buddy) 2 additional days per week and keep track on a weekly activity log.
In-person educational sessions and guided walking will be held on Mondays from 9-10am at the Shrewsbury Parks and Rec Dept (5200 Shrewsbury Ave, Shrewsbury, MO 63119)
This is a program with Shrewsbury Parks and Rec Department. Pre-registration is required. Please contact Allison at the Parks and Rec Department 314-647-1003.
