In today’s polarized and divisive discourse, many wonder if civil conversations are even possible.  Strong opinions and an unwillingness to listen or consider a differing point of view can make civility difficult to achieve.  However, by examining your own motivation when communicating with others who see things differently and learning to stay focused on understanding someone else’s perspective, not whether you agree or disagree, can produce more civility and positive interactions.  This session provides opportunities to examine your own role when communicating with people who strongly see the world differently and offers tools and techniques to enhance your communication and civility.
