Help us increase the scope of the festival. With your support, we can bring in additional acclaimed storytellers at more venues and ensure the community can continue to learn and be entertained through this special opportunity, free or for a minimal charge.
As the summer heats up and the dog days of summer lie just ahead, we want to let you know of a few upcoming storytelling events!
First, our Story Lounge returns in July! (Our Story Lounges are always the 4th Thursday of every month). On Thursday, July 23, 7 pm, via Zoom and Facebook live, our theme will be “Free To Be…”, in honor of the month celebrating freedom and independence. What special moments or experiences best represented freedom to you? What stories resonate with messages of being free? Come and share, or listen in for an evening of fun and community! To be on the roster, make sure to contact Festival Director Lisa Overholser ahead of time with a pitch for an 8-10 minute story. You can watch on our Festival Facebook page for the livestream, or join in the Zoom meeting directly (link to join on the Festival event page).
Also, back by popular demand is “Stories of Compassion”! Hosted in collaboration with Arts & Faith St. Louis, “Stories of Compassion” highlights stories of kindness towards others, told by amateur storytellers from different faith traditions. Adult listeners can tune in on Sunday, July 19 at 2 pm, and we also have a session for kids & families on Wednesday, July 22, at 4 pm. Both events are FREE, but you must register to get the links to join! Sunday, July 19, 2pm- for adults registration link | Wednesday, July 22, 4 pm- for kids & families registration link. Or check out our Festival FB page for Event details, including registration links!
