To properly prepare firefighters and other emergency responders to competently perform their duties, they need practical, hands-on instruction in settings that replicate real-life situations. To make training as accessible and applicable as possible, the training must be delivered at the local level where firefighters work and live. The University of Missouri Fire and Rescue Training Institute (MU FRTI) has a long history of providing hands-on technical training utilizing mobile training props throughout Missouri. Over 80 percent of the training conducted by MU FRTI is delivered at the local level.

The development of new specialized courses and the operation and maintenance of the Institute’s mobile training fleet require substantial support and resources. It would be impossible for us to accomplish this task without the help from our partners and supporters.
