State Horse Bowl Contest

The primary objective of Horse Bowl contests is to provide an opportunity for youth enrolled in 4-H horse projects to demonstrate their knowledge of equine related subject matter in a competitive setting where attitudes of friendliness and fairness prevail. It is also hoped that these contests will provide an educational experience for both participants and spectators.

Registration

Registration can be found at 4HOnline through April 1.

Horse Bowl rules and regulations are in the 4-H Horsemanship Manual and Horse Bowl Guidebook, found under resources.

Contest

The Horse Bowl contest will be held in the University of Missouri Animal Science Center. The schedule to start the day is as follows:

8:30am       Coaches and helper meeting

9:30am       Bowl Registration/Check-In!

10:00am     Opening Session

10:30am     Contest Begins

  • Eat your lunch between rounds
  • In past years the awards presentation has begun around 5:30pm
  • Lunch is on your own, however Boone County 4-H is providing a food stand in the building

All contestants and coaches are expected to be thoroughly familiar with all the rules and regulations set forth herein.
