Tiana Williams is a May 2018 graduate of Stephens College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in digital filmmaking. Tiana was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri and attended the historic Lincoln College Preparatory Academy.  During her undergraduate years, she stayed involved in various clubs and organizations. She was a founding member of Stephen’s poetry club, Poets of Infinity, and served as President for two years. Tiana deeply believes in the power of poetry to inspire empathy and empower those who are silenced to speak and practice self-advocacy. She also worked with a group of Columbia artists to start a chapter of Louder than a bomb, a Chicago born youth poetry festival, for Mid-Missouri middle and high schools. Tiana is also a filmmaker and recently produced her senior thesis film Dicey, for which she was the writer, director, and editor. She plans to continue creating content that fulfills her duty as an artist to reflect the times and inspire change.
