Stephen Jeanetta is Community Development Education Director and Associate Extension Professor for the MU Community Development Program. He provides leadership to programs in Organizational Development and Nonprofit Management, Community and Economic Planning and Building Inclusive Communities. He also serves as director of the Cambio Center. His mix of experience includes two years in Ste. Genevieve County and five years in St. Louis County and the City of St. Louis before moving to campus in 1998.Jeanetta has extensive experience in working with communities and organizations designing and facilitating planning and public participation processes, developing land use plans for small and medium-sized communities, creating strategic plans for agencies and nonprofits and supporting community efforts to manage change. His research has focused on understanding the dynamics affecting community change. He has several research projects that explore the incorporation issues of new populations in rural areas focused on understanding well-being, access to healthcare and the entrepreneurship of Latino farmers.
