Darius Caffey is a May 2017 graduate from the University of Missouri - Columbia with bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology. He is a native of the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois where he attended Seton Academy College Prep. Throughout Darius' studies at MU, he served as a member, peer mentor, and teaching assistant for the Mizzou Black Men's Initiative, which is where he learned the importance of mentoring and providing students with the necessary tools and resources to achieve in college. He then got involved in the Missouri Legislative Black Caucus Foundation, in which he worked with junior and senior high school students on legislation, personal development workshops, and college planning. In working with students throughout the developing stages of life, Darius realized the significance of serving as a positive influence and the value of exposing and guiding youth. Following his service with MCAC, he plans to continue his education on the graduate level by pursuing a master’s degree in school counseling.
