Bria Douglas is May 2017 graduate from the University of Missouri- Kansas City with a bachelor's degree in liberal arts and minor in Black studies. She was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri where she attended Imagine Renaissance Academy High School. Throughout her collegiate experience, she served as Vice- President of the African American Student Union where she organized programs/events for minorities at UMKC to make sure they had the support needed to finish college. She also was a student worker in the Multicultural Student Affairs Office where she began to build her love for education. In addition, Bria works throughout her community and the church community by volunteering and putting on events. It is important to her to give back to the community where she was born and raised and where she was molded into the woman she is today. Bria understands social injustice issues that students in the urban community are faced with daily and wants to be the helping hand that those students need to succeed in life."
