MU Extension offers free event on drought management

KEYTESVILLE, Mo. — University of Missouri Extension specialists headline the 2018 drought management options for beef cattle producers in Chariton County at the MU Extension office, 306 South Cherry, in Keytesville.

The free event is set for 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Aug. 13.

MU Extension livestock specialist Heather Conrow will talk about nitrate toxicity and culling decisions. Agronomy specialist Dhruba Dhakal will discuss pasture management and alternate forage options.

Participants can bring forage plant samples for nitrate testing. Extension specialists will test the nitrate in corn and other forages.
