Farm Safety Day, March 24, offers free fun, family activities

FORTUNA, Mo. – University of Missouri Extension offers a free Farm Safety Day from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at Central Missouri Produce Auction in Fortuna.

Fun, family-oriented events will be offered throughout the event, said University of Missouri Extension agronomy specialist Joni Harper.

MU Extension safety and health specialist Karen Funkenbusch said there will be demonstrations on pond safety, grain bin safety, electrical hazards and farm equipment safety and other related topics. There also will be a puppet show and other children’s activities, as well as a free lunch.

Central Missouri Produce Auction is located at 37808 Highway E, 12 miles south of U.S. Route 50. Versailles Rural Fire Department, MU Extension in Morgan County, and local banks, businesses and farms sponsor the event.
