Feed cost of the ewe and her lambs constitutes 60 to 70 percent of total lamb production costs. Therefore equipment, feedstuffs, byproducts, protein supplements and forages are all discussed in detail in this publication. More than 15 individual feed components are covered in reference to production, cost and nutritive value.
Common mineral deficiencies and toxicities are discussed as well. Tables show how the daily TDN requirement fluctuates with the seasons and gives rations that are appropriate at various stages of production.
