This self-directed course was developed for EMS professionals and emergency room staff to showcase the importance of their role in reporting suspected child abuse and neglect, and provide training on how to identify possible signs of abuse during assessment. This course is free to register and will take approximately 3 hours to complete. The course material will be available as soon as you register and remain available to you until October 31, 2020.

Objectives

Learners who successfully complete this course will be able to

  • Explain the importance of their role in reporting suspected Child Abuse and Neglect.
  • Identify possible signs of abuse during assessment.

Assignments

As you work sequentially through the four modules, you will be asked to submit completion certificates for Module 2- Mandated Reporter Training and Module 3 - Sentinel Injuries Training. We ask that you upload either a PDF, JPG, or PNG of your certificate that can be clearly read. In Module 4 - Provider Resources, you will be given information regarding various resources that you and your team may utilize. You may download and utilize any PDFs from this and use appropriately throughout social media and within your communities.
