Description

The Sheep and Goats for Meat Production workshop will provide information for both new and experienced producers. This program is packed with a combination of production and business topics that are helpful for sheep and goat producers. Participants will learn about: culling decisions, deworming, an economic outlook, farm business planning, farm taxes, land leasing, health monitoring, multi-species grazing, nutrition & feeding, and reproduction.

Participants also have the option to attend a carcass processing class before the workshop begins. The carcass process class will demonstrate two methods for lamb processing: cuts for home use, and cuts for restaurant use.

This workshop is a joint effort between University of Missouri Extension and Lincoln University Extension.

Cost: $40 until March 23rd; Late registrations will be $50.

Optional processing class is $15 per person.

Fees cover all the materials for the workshop. Lunch is provided by the Crowder College Aggie Club.
