Instructors, learn the state-required curriculum for the annual mandatory racial profiling training.  The one-day course covers all of the necessary court cases and documentation procedures that are required under law.  After successful completion, participants will be able to teach the required material to their own staff each year.  

The course will be taught by Sgt. Carl Schwartze (Ret) is a 27 year veteran of Law Enforcement.  He began his career with the  Brookfield, Missouri Police Department where he served for 2.5 years before moving to Springfield, where he served until his retirement in April 2015.  his pas assignments include Uniform Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Major Crimes Investigation, Patrol Supervisor, Traffic Supervisor, and 5 years as the Supervisor of the Springfield Department Substation at Missouri State University.  Sgt. Schwartze spent a majority of his career in Uniform Operations, engaged in direct service delivery and supervision of patrol and traffic officers.  Upon retirement, Sgt. Schwartze accepted a position with the Law Enforcement Training Institute and serves as a staff instructor and the Institute's Coordinator for Continuing Education and Seminars.
