Missouri Master Gardener Core Course Training - Cooper County


As we monitor the ongoing national response to the spread of COVID-19 and keep public health top of mind, we have decided to postpone this event.

The mission of the Missouri Master Gardener Extension Program is “helping others learn to grow.” The Master Gardener program provides in-depth horticultural training to individuals throughout Missouri who then volunteer their time applying what they have learned to help others in their communities to learn about gardening and environmental education. Topics are taught by MU Extension specialist or other professionals, providing in depth horticulture training for Missourians who wish to spread their knowledge of gardening. Prepares volunteers for horticulture questions frequently asked by citizens around the state, based on unbiased research based gardening information. 

Topics include - Plants and their environment, Soils, plant nutrition and nutrient management, Vegetable gardening, Fruit production, Establishment and care of woody ornamentals,Herbaceous ornamentals, Managing lawns and turfgrass, Insects, Preventing and managing plant diseases
