Effective Strategies for Students with Autism

Description

Students with autism often present unique needs associated with social communication deficits and patterns of restricted behavior. Providing educational support may inadvertently lead to prolonged dependency on adult prompting. This session will emphasize promoting student independence. Attendees will learn strategies to decrease students’ dependency on adult prompting; strategies to increase social-communication skills, and strategies to effectively assist in behavior regulation.
