2020 St. Charles County Master Gardener Core Training

Description

The Master Gardener Volunteer Training Program is an annual training conducted by University of Missouri Extension. The volunteer mission of the Master Gardeners is to “provide research-based horticultural information to the public for community service and gardening pleasure”. This is accomplished in two parts: horticultural training and volunteer service to the community.

As a Trainee, you will have an opportunity to hear lectures on a diverse number of gardening topics from experts in their field including University of Missouri Extension Staff, and other subject matter experts and Master Gardeners. The Master Gardener Training Coordinator works with Master Gardeners and partners to conduct this course each year. Together they manage the “nuts and bolts” of each course to take attendance, provide handouts, perform an evaluation and work to provide volunteer assignments and monitor trainee progress throughout the training program. By the time you complete this training, you should expect to be knowledgeable about basic gardening principles and advise others on proper ways to garden in the Greater St. Louis region.
