This online EMS refresher course is an interactive, blended-learning opportunity provides continuing medical education to meet the NREMT NCCP component and the Missouri Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (MOBEMS) re-certification requirements for EMTB and Paramedic level of licensure. This 48 hour course combines virtual lectures, discussions, and quizzes with hands-on interaction and simulations to enhance your learning experience.

2020-01 Combined Refresher Course

 

GOALS:

This blended course fulfills the Missouri Bureau of Emergency Medical Services (MOBEMS) and NREMT’s requirements for a refresher course in continuing medical education for Emergency Medical Technicians at the Basic (EMTB) and Paramedic (EMTP) level of licensure, which may be used towards renewing your license.  This course combines convenient on-line learning with the traditional classroom experience.  Continuing education units (CEUs) will be awarded upon successful completion of on-line course content and/or classroom participation.

 

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

 

The EMS education program covers all emergency medical concepts and techniques currently considered to be within the responsibilities of the EMT-Basic providing emergency care in a pre-hospital setting as set forth by the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services of the State of Missouri.  This program meets or exceeds course requirements established by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Missouri Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.  The education program will also cover topics related to the future trends and care methodologies in emergency medicine.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  1.  To provide a structured course of review to prepare the student to successfully complete the MOBEMS renewal process and is based on the NREMT’s NCCP National Component which requires 30 hours of continuing education with a maximum of 10 hours of distributive education.
  2. To provide the student with information on current and emerging topics in emergency medical services.
  3. To provide a blended learning environment with interactive learning, hands on skill review, a positive learning environment and high fidelity simulations.

 

 

CLASS SCHEDULE and DETAILS:

 Ceus will only be awarded upon completion of each course module.  Some modules require classroom attendance to be awarded the CEUs.  All modules require participant interaction, quizzes and evaluations that must be completed.   The maximum CEUs awarded are noted in each module.  

On-line Course open:   January 6, 2020

Classroom Days: January 8, 15, and 22nd, 2020, location noted below.

Classroom Time: 0900-1700

Tuition cost of this class is $200.  Community partner discounts of 50% are awarded based on Program Director approval. This course does not require textbooks.
