County council election
Cooper County Extension Council election will be held Jan. 20–24, 2020.
Each year an election is conducted to elect members to the Cooper County University of Missouri Extension Council. This is an opportunity for Cooper County residents to influence the educational programs and services University of Missouri Extension provides in Cooper County.
The Cooper County Council consists of nine elected and five appointed members. Members serve two-year terms, with half of the terms ending each year.
Cooper County has two election districts. You MUST vote in the district that you live in. To view bios of the 2020 candidates, please click the information button below.
District One includes all Cooper County residents of voting age that live within a Boonville 65233 ZIP code or a Blackwater 65322 ZIP code.
District One residents may vote for three candidates. There is also one position for a write-in candidate. Each write-in candidate a voter adds to the ballot takes the place of a vote for a candidate that is preprinted on the ballot. Any ballot that has more than the maximum allowed of three candidates selected will be disqualified.
District Two includes all Cooper County residents of voting age that live within any Cooper County ZIP code EXCEPT 65233 or 65322.
District Two residents may vote for two candidates. Any ballot that has more than two candidates selected will be disqualified.
Online ballots will be available in the area below from 12:01 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20 through 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020.
You may request a paper ballot by calling the Extension Office at 660-882-5661 with your name and address and a ballot will be mailed to you.
All online and paper ballots must be received by the Cooper County Extension Center by 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24, 2020.
